stuff and stuff

I don’t think either one of us are feeling too inspired to write, but I thought I’d at least keep you informed of the basics.

1. The holidays went well, despite my knee surgery. My best gift? It’s a tie between the new coat and the Grateful Dead box set. I now have every studio album on CD. Next up, collecting their live stuff. All of it.

2. Speaking of the knee, the first week really sucked. However, I’m gaining mobility every day and head over to Casper today for a checkup/rehab thing. I’m really not looking forward to it – not because of pain or anything, but simply because I really didn’t want to spend my last day of the holidays on the road.

3. The Illini embarrassed themselves and their fans yesterday. You’ve heard that old cliche about the definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result? Well, the Illini coaching staff seemed to think that we’d somehow magically get our running game to work without making USC defend the passing game. And when we finally DID figure that out, we fumbled. For all of that, however, Coach Zook’s remarks to the sideline reporter immediately after the game somehow made me feel slightly better. I still don’t want to talk about it though.

That’s it for now. I need to get some more grading done before we take off for the big city.

  • dudie,

if you’re looking to collect every live dead recording, the one and only russell funke is a great place to start. he’s obsessed, and says he has 90% of them. it’s crazy – his garage is just packed with spindles of cd’s.

i’ll call this weekend to catch up; wanna hear how the knee is doing. hugs from jenn and me to you and kg….
