Words in an average 14 year old’s vocabulary in 2005: 10,000.
Now, as with all statistics, we must be careful here. Are we talking about comprehension or usage? Speaking or writing? This is complicated stuff, friends, but the gist is that our kids aren’t learning (and/or [...]

The Guest Bedroom
End of the hall in the basement. This room will come in handy when a.) we have guests and b.) the upstairs is too hot during the summer to sleep.

The Family Room
The basement living room. The couch bequeathed to Paul (from his days of playing Golden Eye, Mario Kart and Mario Golf with Chris and Heather in Seattle) will be making an appearance as soon as we can find a way to get it from Laramie to here. This room has been a cool retreat from [...]

The Kitchen
Both ends of the galley style kitchen. Paul had the ingenius idea to turn part of our shelves into a pot rack. Kudos to Dan and Abbey for turning the top part of the other set of shelves into a wine glass rack for us as well. We love it!

The Living Room
The upstairs living room. You walk into this room when you enter the house through the front door. The natural light in this room is great. So great, in fact, we realized that our loveseat and couch are actually different colors. Same color scheme, just differnt shades. Seems rather ironic that I decided to splurge [...]

The Back Yard
Pictures taken from the deck and next to the shed, respectively. The weed infested hole and connectcting sidewalk to the left in the second picture have been dug up and demolished, thanks to Paul. There are pictures of that project somewhere as well. They’ll eventually get posted too. But probably not until that project is completely [...]

The Front Yard
There’s not too much to say about the front yard. Neither one of us are particularly happy with any of the landscaping. We’ve already torn out two juniper bushes to the right of the front steps and we have a long way to go and a lot of ideas before it becomes something we’re happy [...]
